If you have been following our website regularly, you would have seen the growing number of 360-degree capable action cameras in the market. One such popular camera is the Amkov AMK100S launched in the second quarter of this year. And now, Amkov seems to up the ante even further with the launch of the Amkov AMK200S. Let’s start by taking a sneak-peek at its spec-sheet.
The Amkov AMK200S action cam is equipped with two 220-degree fisheye lenses, a 8MP CMOS sensor and a Sunplus 6350 chipset that can capture VR-capable 360-degree video at 960p (30fps). In addition, still images up to a resolution of 3008×1504 can be captured as well, with storage of images and videos on a microSD card that needs to be bought separately.
You also get WiFi as standard, allowing you to control the camera and live-preview video from your Android or iOS smartphone. A 0.96-inch notification screen to display useful information is present as well. As far as ports are concerned, the camera gets a micro-HDMI, micro-USB and a microSD card slot.
So what’s different from the predecessor? The battery capacity has been bumped up to 1500mAh that is claimed to last for about 1 hour of video recording at 960p.
Coming to the accessories, you get a bag, a fixed base, a bike mount, a 3M sticker, a USB cable and a user manual. The Amkov AMK200S can be purchased for under $170 shipped.
