What’s it with so many action cameras being continuously launched you might ask. Well, there is no definitive answer to that question, but it surely means action cameras are quite a rave all around the world, and I certainly expect the trend to continue in the foreseeable future at the least. Just recently another action camera was off the blocks, by the name of ThiEye i60.
As you can see in the spec-sheet, the ThiEye i60 comes equipped with a Sunplus SPCA6350M chipset, an OV4689 CMOS image sensor, and a 152-degree wide-angle lens. The device is capable of recording 1440p video at a decent 30fps, 1080p at 60/30fps and 720p at 120/60fps. This action camera also comes with an image stabilizer that should help smoothen out shaky videos. You also get motion detection (video recording starts automatically when motion is detected), loop recording, etc.
The ThiEye i60 action camera can capture still images up to 12MP, with burst mode and self-timer available too. You get loads of manual adjustments too, like ISO, exposure and white balance adjustment.
The ThiEye i60 action camera sports a 1.5-inch TFT screen, a micro-USB port, a micro-HDMI port and a microSD card slot. Storage of images and videos is on a microSD card that needs to be bought separately.
The action camera is WiFi-enabled, allowing you to control the device and live-stream video from your Android or iOS smartphone. WiFi range is claimed to be 15m.
On the accessories front, you get a 40m waterproof case along with a whole range of mounting accessories. The ThiEye i60 action camera can be yours for under $130 shipped.
